Japanese Dolls

We are having such a good time in Japan and we're learning so much! This week we learned about family life in Japan and where Japan is located on a globe compared to where we are!! Japan is REALLY far away! :)
We also got the chance to watch the Inauguration of our new President on Tuesday. We had a lot of fun learning about Martin Luther King Jr. also and why we have a whole day to celebrate such an extraordinary man.
These pictures are of us making our Japanese dolls out of toilet paper rolls, fabric and a popsicle stick. We learned on Friday that in Japan there's a whole day to celebrate girls. It's known as Girls Day and it's a day when Japanese girls make and display their porcelain dolls. There's celebrations and parades that go on throughout the day as well.
Next week we will have reached our 100th day and school and have a TON of fun activities we're going to do with the number 100. We also will be participating in the Art Of The Sky project at Kate Sullivan, where all 900 of our classmates and teachers will form a human made crocodile in the Coob Bowl right behind our school! Stay tuned next week for some really FUN photos!!
